Motherhood!

Hey Everybody,
It's been a couple of weeks so I thought I could fill you all in on whats been going on. Patch is now 6wks old and he weighs 10lbs and is 22 inches long.
You remember those luv's diaper commercials that said, "In the beginning, you buy all those expensive diapers, then you get over it?" Well, the same thing goes for motherhood... In the beginning you really try hard to go by the book about how much to feed your child and how often...then one day you just get over it. At 3weeks old, I introduced Patrick to rice cereal in his bottle. I started off with 2 teaspoons, then before long, I started adding enough to make it look like pudding. My son is happy, healthy, and he is sleeping through the night! That means that mommy sleeps through the night too!!
Patrick is so funny when he laughs...it tickles me to the point that I burst out laughing too. He is my world and I love that I finally know what it feels like to be a mom. It really is the most wonderful thing in the world!
He is growing so much, so fast. I noticed that he is learning things also. Just last week, he learned to shit up his back, down his legs and in his hair! AND...he did it all in public!! I was so proud!
Anyway, thats all I have for now...but I will continue to keep you all posted!

Remember I love you all,

Casey

Guess what!?

Okay, so I went to the dr yesterday only to find out that my contractions are just Braxton Hicks and that I am only dialated 1.5cm and still only 70% effaced! What a bummer! She then asked me if I wanted her to sweep my cervix...I asked if it would hurt and she said, "Yes!" but I had her do it anyway...For those of you who havent had it done...GOOD FOR YOU! For those of you who have indeed shared this experience...You know that it feels like she was trying to park her car there. Anyway, it was meant to help progress my labor...so far I just feel SORE! I'll let you know how it goes. For now...here are some pics of Patricks Nursary!

Love,

Casey

Hey All,

Anyway, I see my Doctor tomorrow the 6th, I am praying that I have dialated enough for her to keep me, but I am trying not to get my hopes up. I am enclosing a picture of me for New Year's Eve! Enjoy!

It's a....WHAT?

Okay friends and fellow bloggers,
I have been to my ultrasound and I know what I am having. Imagine my surprise when I was laying on the table with my doctor performing my procedure when she says, Casey, it looks like you are going to have a baby.... (I chime in at this point and say, 'Girl, right?') and she says "No, its a boy!" HUH? WHAT? WHERE? and she very sweetly points out his "Wee-Wee" as she called it. So there you have it...I am going to have a son some time in January and I am ecstatic. My little Toot is now my little Patrick! Anyway, thats the scoop!

Take care

Have you all been waiting?

Hey everyone,
I am writing to let you all know that we survived Hurricane Gustav with NO damage...Zhohn however saw alot of devistation. With that being said...lets get right to the Ultrasound news!
Without beating around the bush....The ultrasound was NOT 100 percent sure...but the tech said she was leaning toward a girl...I am not getting my hopes up, but I do go again on Sept 12th to do another ultrasound. If the baby cooperates, I should know then. I was sooo upset that I didnt get a 100 percent sure answer that I left the doctors office sobbing!!! My little darling was balled up and wouldnt let anyone see a thing!!! Not even a face shot...I left with a picture of the foot...THAT IS IT!!! I am so upset about it, but hey....I can wait another week! As soon as I know something I will post...But remember...Hurricane IKE is headed right for us and will be here on the 12th....something tells me I may not make this one! So thats it for now...talk to you all again soon!

Babies and more Babies

Well hello out there to all my fellow Bloggers!
I want to start off by saying CONGRATULATIONS to Kelly on her pregnancy...Turns out, she is due one week before me! You can reach Kelly's blog using the link on the right of the screen...You should stop in and see her ultrasound pics she has posted! It's awesome to see!
Today was my first official OB-GYN visit. Nothing special happened, but I do have to say, I adore my midwife. All of my questions were answered and I was assured that everything I am experiencing is normal...Thank Goodness....This morning I almost called for a priest to perform an exorcism. Everyone is telling me it will pass...I am indeed counting the days!
My Ultrasound is scheduled for June 25th @ 11:00am. I will be sure to post the pics as soon as I am able. I would love to blog more about it all, but right now I am gagging....i'm off to eat some saltines and have a glass of gingerale.

Do this! Dont Do that! You Cant have That!

Well hello all,
I need to vent so why not use my blog to do so. Please remember that I am pregnant & Unmarrried, but I love Raymond (the baby daddy) with all of my heart.
If I hear one more person choke up when I lift a coca-cola to my lips in the middle of June in Louisiana, I am going to back hand someone. I mentioned something about having a cup of coffee and my 23 year old diabetic cousin who spends every weekend in the hospital had the nerve to tell me... You know you cant have coffee. (Imagine the color draining from my face here) I kept my calm and said to her, "I am also not supposed to drink vodka, do drugs, have coca-cola, eat raw oysters, have my steak cooked rare, stay out in the sun, swim, touch my belly when i laugh, touch my belly when i get scared, raise my hands above my head, or sleep on my stomach. Thanks...I got it. I know this is my first child and I know everyone has been there and everyone wants to help, but please dont fuss at me like I am 4. I mean really...is one coca-cola at noon when i am sweating really going to send me into miscarriage by nightfall? My doctor says i am allowed 22o mg of caffiene a day. Thats two canned soda's!!!!
Other than the whole morning sickness thing and the hormonal roller coaster I am currently sitting front seat in, Toot and I are doing well.
Raymond is the most wonderful man in the world, he really is.... I adore him. BUT... His mother is getting on my last pregnant nerve... Move here, Live right there, Name the baby this, I dont like the names you have picked out, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Whose baby is this? I mean, since Raymond and I made it together, shouldn't we have some say so about it? This is really sending me into fits of rage when I think about it. I want to move to Africa just so she wont come to visit.
So anyway this is where I am....this is what I am dealing with. I'll keep you posted!

It's Official!

Well Hello bloggers! Specifically Zhohn, Kelly, Dena, and Mo!
Okay, Good news and bad news... The bad news is that i didnt get to see the Doctor Friday because she had to deliver a baby. Now, who am I to stand in the way of a woman becoming a mother? The good news however is that my pregnancy was confirmed. My official due date is now January 25, 2009!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited, I cant stand it. I think I may be taking this overboard. I am 6 weeks along and my jeans are snug, so of course I ran out to buy the cutest maternity clothes... (some think its too soon, but PLEASE...Let me have my fun)
I also purchased my copy of "What to expect when you're expecting" and its companion journal/organizer. And what new pregnancy isn't complete until you have " The 100,000 baby names book?" We are determined to have a boy name picked out before my 2nd trimester!! Right now I like "Isaiah Jude," but with my hormones racing the way they have been, I may wake up tomorrow crying my eyes out thinking its "TOO BIBLICAL." I am adjusting well so far to being pregnant I think... Remember how two months ago I said that after Divorce, you can keep throwing up long after you think you're done? Well, that also rings true in Pregnancy!!! The funny thing is, In Pregnancy... when I am done throwing up, I have a reason to smile about it.
I still have my moments when my day slows down and I think...Oh WOW... I'm really pregnant. There is a tiny little life growing inside of me. Speaking of which, I have been referring to the baby as him, or her depending on what kind of day I am having. Zhohn said that I should find a gender neutral nickname to call the baby until we find out the sex. Well, after about 15 minutes of thought, I was sold on the nickname "bean." I mean, after all...the baby is only as big as a bean right now. I called my sister to ask her advice, when she said... "Can we please call it "Toot?" I fell in love with it at that moment and now me and everyone around me are calling the baby "Toot!" Cute huh? If you dont like it, then lie to me because I am in love with it.
Anyway, thats it for now. I will keep you all posted as the weeks progress! Hey Mo, We're gonna be MOMS!

Tagged...7 Random things?

Okay guys...I've been tagged! I have to tell 7 random things about me... Here goes:

1. I have a tendency to overstep professional boundaries. People around me that I am supposed to remain professional with, ALWAYS end up being my friends...Ex. My boss (is my best friend) my Highschool Science teacher (used to let me spend the night at her house...and we'd talk on the phone after school) and of course you have all heard about the time my therapist forgot her skirt and took me to her house so she could put it on.

2. I am 28 years old and all of my closest friends are WAY older than me. Lisa, my boss/ friend is 41, Dianne is 65, Darlene is 48. I relate more closely to older people. It's a gift really!

3. The only two things in life I have ever wanted to be was a nurse and a mother... Well, I work for a well known blood center as an apheresis nurse...Now I want a child to call my own sooo badly its making me ill.

4. I can sing. I have been singing for like 23 years now...and I am really good at it. Just ask Zhohn. She can tell you. I'm not conceited or anything, I just know what I can do behind a microphone.

5. I trust too easily. I will give myself and share my soul with someone just because they say, "I'm here if you need." I have gotten hurt more times than not because of this.

6. I am sooo scared of not being successful. All I want is my fathers approval in my career. When I was younger and messing up my life, he looked at me and told me that I would never be anything in life. When i finally got my head straight and went to college...I made it a goal to have my father be proud of me.

7. I think I am falling in love with Raymond Paul Piazza. He is everything I could ever want. He's the one man I have always dreamed of.

Laughter Through Tears

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,
Today is Friday, May 2nd and I find myself once again at Dianne's house. I have no idea what it is about Dianne that makes me feel so comforted, so loved, and so happy, but I guess I shouldnt question that. She reminds me so much of my grandmother who passed away in 2000. The same body, the same hair, the same way she smokes her cigarettes, and the same use of the "F" word when she gets mad. It tickles me to know I can spend so much time with someone so close to what my own grandmother was. Matter of factly, she even lets me call her maw maw.
Right now the circumstances of my visit are sad, but we are making the best of it. We stayed up until WAY after midnight last night just talking and laughing...sometimes shedding a few tears. We pulled out the sofa bed and just sat there talking about everything. We talked about her husband Jimmy and his passing, we talked about raising children...we even talked about sex. It was just she and I...alone in the dark....being women....more importantly...being friends. At the age of 28 I have no clue how in the hell a 65 year old woman became my best friend...but I thank God for sending her to me.
She told me last night that if Brian (her son) and I had not been there Tuesday night, she doesn't know what she would have done. I feel special that she chooses to share her grief with me. You can't just cry your eyes out in front of any old person... you share that with people you love and trust. I am happy that Dianne trusts me enough to share that.
Thats all for now, Dianne and I are going to smoke a pack of cigarettes, finish up a pot of coffee, then watch a good chick movie. Stay in touch ya'll!

Time With Dianne

My Precious friend...who was there for me when I needed...who tucked me into bed and gave some tiny thread of comfort, lost her husband yesterday. He'd been battling Cancer for some time and finally found his healing.

I spent the night with her last night and let her cry while she held my hand. I slept next to her last night, not wanting to leave her side for fear that she might need me during the night. I now sit at her kitchen table while she stares blankly at the ceiling and I wonder, How does one survive this? Thats what I am up to for now. I will try to keep you all posted on whats been going on in my life, Lord knows its a doozy to tell about!
